This file is really useful as it allows your clients to quickly save the event to their personal calendar (e.g.: Google Calendar), also depending on their settings they might have the event automatically added to their personal calendar as they receive the confirmation or reminder email which is great to reduce no show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to make sure the .ICS file is sent within our emails, you\u2019ll need to setup a different sending method, it will work with either:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>MailGun API \u2013 Configure Mailgun with Wappointment<\/li><li>SendGrid API \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/wappoblog.lndo.site\/docs\/sendgrid-api\/\" data-type=\"docs_wappo\" data-id=\"83\">Configure SendGrid with Wappointment<\/a> (comes with 100 free emails per day)<\/li><li>or any SMTP you want to use \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/wappoblog.lndo.site\/docs\/google-gmail-smtp\/\" data-type=\"docs_wappo\" data-id=\"194\">Configure with Gmail SMTP<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Configure a SMTP<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Just click on the SMTP box and enter all of the details of your SMTP:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Username<\/li><li>Password<\/li><li>Hostname<\/li><li>Port number<\/li><li>Encryption: SSL, TLS or no encryption<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can obtain those details from your SMTP provider, please note that some ports may be blocked by your hosting company for security reason. So some configuration may not work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally some SMTP host are not working with the .ics attachments(Amazon SES for instance), so we\u2019ve added an option to disable them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><a href=\"http:\/\/wappoblog.lndo.site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/email_smtp-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"982\" height=\"579\" src=\"http:\/\/wappoblog.lndo.site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/email_smtp-1.png\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"120\" data-full-url=\"http:\/\/wappoblog.lndo.site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/email_smtp-1.png\" data-link=\"http:\/\/wappoblog.lndo.site\/docs\/configure-email\/attachment\/email_smtp-1\/\" class=\"wp-image-120\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wappoblog.lndo.site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/email_smtp-1.png 982w, https:\/\/wappoblog.lndo.site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/email_smtp-1-300x177.png 300w, https:\/\/wappoblog.lndo.site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/email_smtp-1-768x453.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 982px) 100vw, 982px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"blocks-gallery-item__caption\">Configure SMTP<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>While if you are technical and use to configure SMTP, this should be easy, you need to keep in mind that the simplest, fastest and most reliable of all sending methods with Wappointment is either<strong> MailGun API<\/strong> or <strong>SendGrid\u2019s API<\/strong> so if you are having issue setting up your SMTP, we will always recommend you one of these methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changing the sender email or From Address<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When configuring any of the email sending method you need to pay attention to the <strong>From address<\/strong> which is set, it\u2019s important to make sure that your sending method is allowed to send on behalf of that address.
