Wappointment’s default language is English, this said, you can translate all of the strings of the plugin in your language.
Translating all translatable strings
Translating Wappointment straight in wordpress.org our community site, is the ideal way of translating, as it will make your changes available to you and everyone else using Wappointment in your language. You can translate Wappointment that way quickly:
- register an account on WordPress.org
- then select the language you want to translate for Wappointment
- Then select the set of strings, it can be the plugin itself or the readme remember to always translate the stable version
- Double click a string and start translating
Once you’re done, the strings you’ve translated will be marked as waiting(meaning waiting for someone else to review them), it’s to ensure quality and maintain standards across all of translated WordPress’ plugins.
It could be pending for weeks or months without anyone reviewing those strings, so you need to take action:
- You can ask your WordPress language community to review your strings
- You can apply to become a translation editor for Wappointment

- Enter the text below making sure to contact the correct language community if you translate in portuguese, write #pt_PT in your message instead of #it_IT

Become a translation editor for Wappointment
The process of becoming a translation editor may take some time as you will need to use the proper tools to respect the standard of your language community. So you’ll need to start with translating a few strings, and improve what needs to be improved with the help of senior translators. It’s a fun process you will certainly learn a lot and meet nice people from WordPress’ community.

Translating straight in LocoTranslate
Don’t want to wait for your string to be approved on wordpress.org? You can also install LocoTranslate a plugin built so that you translate all you want straight from your WordPress’ site backend.
When logged in to your WordPress site having installed and activated LocoTranslate:
- Go to LocoTranslate > Plugins
- Click on Wappointment
- Click New Language
- Select your language
- Select the System location
- And start translating, don’t forget to hit save
Customizing texts in booking form
Finally if you don’t have much time and just want to quickly translate just the interface of the booking form for your clients simply follow these steps:
- head to Wappointment > Settings > Appearance
- Start editing the texts, in your language or simply rephrase the existing strings to your liking
- Go through each steps of the booking widget in order to review all of the string
Now this type of method is quick and easy, and it will work well for one site. But if you want your translation to be long lasting and be available for all of the sites you will install Wappointment on, you should translate all strings like in the first section.
